Boundary Commission for England 35 Great Smith St
London
SW1P 3BQ

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to object to the draft proposals for redrawing parliamentary constituencies published on 12th September as they affect the town of Bilston in the Black Country. Bilston has a long and proud history and a very strong sense of identity yet the Boundary Commission proposals would mean that the wards which make up the town - Bilston East, Bilston North and parts of Spring Vale and Ettingshall wards - would in the future have no less than FOUR different MPs in constituencies which straddle three different local government boundaries. All of these wards are currently represented by one MP.

I believe these proposals fail to meet the Boundary Commission's aim of respecting local identity and existing local government boundaries. I urge you to revise these proposals and produce a different plan which respects our sense of local identity and keeps Bilston united.
